The Department of Social Sciences in CPS is unique in that it integrates the study of Social Sciences with the study of Commerce. Social Science as a discipline can be described as the study of Man’s progression throughout history and the documentation of the human experience. Here at Chettinadu Public School, we offer a wide range of subject choices like History, Geography, Civics, Economics, Business Studies, and Accountancy. Pupils have the flexibility to combine these subjects according to their interests and career prospects. Through the study of these subjects, the pupils understand the nature of Man, his past, and what his future would likely be. In order to enhance their understanding of economic development, the pupils also learn about the ways in which resources are used by people. In terms of academic performance, we have always had several toppers awarded with numerous merit certificates. Some of the careers that our pupils choose after completion of Class 12 are Law, Civil Services, Environmental Studies, and Design. The focus of the Department of Social Sciences has always been to nurture the inherent skills of pupils and provide them with the freedom of expression.
Department Of Commerce And Economics
The Department aims to facilitate learning of Commerce, Business Accounts and Economics which reflects the current trends, and to impart skills to develop the employability of the students. The students who aspire for a career in Chartered Accounting, Finance, Audit, Marketing, Management, or Entrepreneurship are assured of a successful academic formation offered by the Commerce and Economics department. The department focuses on the growing importance of Economics and Commerce as a discipline over the years and its emphasis on rigorous quantitative and analytical reasoning. The department’s objective is to be attuned to the latest developments in the field, produce high-quality research, and well-trained students.
