Department of Science
Guided by the aims of the National Curriculum Framework 2005 and progressing with the vision of the National Education Policy 2019 of providing high-quality education to all, the Department of Science at Chettinadu Public School envisions developing young inquiring minds, with an innate curiosity about Science and the natural world around them. The foundation is laid at the KG and Primary Level, where the teaching of Science is directed to nurture analytical, critical, and creative skills that develop a scientific temper in the student. The requisite theoretical knowledge is supported with practical skills as the student progresses to the Senior school level. Here they get the opportunity to diversify into the branches of Physics, Chemistry and Biology where skills of scientific enquiry to design and carry out scientific investigations, evaluate scientific evidences to draw conclusions, are encouraged. Project based learning, quiz programmes, field visits are taken to translate learning from the class rooms into an experiential process. Thus, excelling in the evaluation of the learning outcome, in the form of the All India Secondary School Examination and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination, becomes a very natural conclusion to the learning of Science at school level.
Department of Physics
The Department of Physics of Chettinadu Public School has reached wider boundaries and scaled greater heights, only because of its professional quality and commitment wrapped in personal concern, which makes it unique indeed. Physics holds an important place in the history of humanity and is valuable to the future of all human beings, and this is a belief, that guides the functioning of the Department of Physics. The students are provided with a holistic education to empower them to lead from the front. The department provides an environment conducive to nurturing analytical minds. It is the endeavour of the department to offer a rich academic experience wherein students learn to think critically, communicate theoretical concepts effectively, and become lifelong learners. Highly qualified and sincerely committed Faculty, through their pedagogical practices including informal classroom interactions, model demonstrations, student seminars, Exhibitions, and Evaluation patterns enable students to explore the fascinating world of Physics. The mission of the department is to inspire, prepare, and empower students to succeed in the ever-changing world.
Department of Chemistry
Realizing the role of chemistry which has been responsible for some of the most significant improvements in the quality of life over the last century, The Department of Chemistry of Chettinadu Public School is committed to fostering a respectful workplace culture. It is dedicated to the development of next-generation scholars. Students are given excellent opportunities to acquire insights into chemistry by learning basic theories as well as experimental skills necessary for performing research in their respective fields of interest. Students are instilled with the scientific impetus to pursue a career in chemistry. The development of technical skills through lecture classes is complemented with hands-on experience in the laboratory. The department seeks to train highly competent chemists to enter into the scientific field of one’s choice in their respective field.
Department of Biology
In this new and inspiring era, Biology has gained enormous heights glorified with its immense contributions in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Textiles, Marine Science, etc. It provides the fundamental knowledge and tools to address many of society’s needs and to explore unknown areas. Following the footprints of Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher who was hailed as the “Father of Botanical Science” and other great botanists, the college came forward to fulfill the needs of society by motivating our students to opt for medical science, agricultural science, and train them to crack their NEET examination.
