'Mud Day' Mud. It can be a nuisance. As soon as it rains, mud is everywhere and it gets on literally everything. There are definitely no benefits of this dirty, slimy substance, right? Wrong. The creators of International Mud Day are out to prove that mud has a lot to offer. After all, what would the outdoors be without mud? Plenty of research has shown that coming in contact with a certain amount of bacteria is good for us. It boosts our immune systems and the minerals found in mud have beauty benefits. That’s why people pay hundreds of dollars for mud baths at spas!
On June 29, 2011, the World Forum Foundation sponsored the very first International Mud Day. It’s a day for children, parents and teachers all over the world to celebrate nature, the glorious earth beneath our feet and the joy of getting really muddy! Mud Day allows both children and adults to explore the sensory landscape our earth provides us.
